The Midway airport is only 10 minutes away from downtown Chicago. It offers around 265 daily departures with 81 destinations. It’s a great choice and point of service for the Chicago residents.
While you wait for your flight, you have three large areas where you can get some food, drinks or shopping and just relax.
The first area is located just when you pass security and offers great shops to buy a sandwich or something to eat. Check out the famous Chicago burger at the Illinois Bar & Grill.
This area is called the Midway Boulevard and is a great spot to waste some time until your flight is boarding.

Located at level 1 at this exact location: 5701 S. Cicero Ave. Adjacent to the Terminal
This garage actually offers both pay by hour and daily options. The garage is located just by the terminal building and is very easy to find and get to. The hourly rates parking spots are located at level 1, while the daily ones are on level 2 to 6.
The hourly parking spots at the Midway international airport are meant for short term parking spots when you need to be close by the terminal. If you know you’re going to spend the day there, park at the daily levels.

Pay by day parking garage
Located at levels 2 – 6 at this exact location: 5701 S. Cicero Ave. Adjacent to the Terminal
It’s basically in the same building as the hourly garage only the daily spots are on levels 2 – 6.
Please be sure to remember where you parked your car before you leave because if you fly for a few days or more you won’t remember it when you get back.

Park at the daily parking lot located here: Northwest Corner of 55th St and Kilpatrick Ave / 1 Block East of Cicero
To get to the entrance of the daily lot drive to the corner of 55th Street and Kilpatrick Avenue, the entrance is on Kilpatrick Avenue.
This parking lot is a daily, long term garage that could be the closes there is to the terminal. Some of the features included in this lot are:
- A dedicated shuttle bus to take you to the terminal
- An automated system to pay for the parking.

Park at the Economy garage lot located at: 5050 W. 55th St / 1/4 mile west of Cicero Ave.
These two lots are also a great choice for longer term parking at the Midway Airport in Chicago. Both of the lots have the same rates ( see table below ).
You can jump on the free shuttle that leaves every 10-15 minutes from the main terminal building to the lots.
*Make sure to remember the stop number when you jump on so you will know where to drop off when you get back.

Chicago O’hare International Airport

The Chicago O’hare airport is one of the biggest and busiest airports in the country. It’s located only 17 miles from the city and can handle around 70 million passengers a year.
You can travel to 240 destinations from the airport and see around 1,180 departures per day at this massive airport.
To fly domestic, you can use terminals 1,2 and 3

The Terminal 5 is the international port of O’hare airport.

Pay by hour parking lot at O’hare Airport
The main garage on level 1 just next to the domestic terminals is probably the easiest choice if you only need to park for an hour or so to pick someone up.
Remember that short term parking is considered less than three hours. So if you need to park your car at O’hare airport for longer use the daily parking lots on levels 2-6 in the main garage building or the lot B and C which is outside.

Daily parking lot
Next you have your daily parking lot at levels 2 -6 in the same building. Some lots are outside ( B and C )
Daily parking lots are for cars that plan to park for more than three hours so plan ahead. You can also use outside parking lots B and C for daily parking.

International Lot D
International Lot D offers Economy parking for people looking to stay a little bit longer. It’s located adjacent to International Terminal 5.
This lot is not intended for overnight stays and his not close. It’s an open garage.

Economy lots at O’Hare Airport
A great choice of parking if you plan to park for longer periods of time is to choose the Economy lots. The rates of these lots are $10 – $17. There are shuttle buses that routinely pick up and drop passengers from the lots and dropping them of at lot E.
From there you can use the Airport Transit System to get to your terminal.

Economy Lot E
Located next to Bessie Coleman Dr on the southeast corner of Mannheim and Zemke Rd. Please note that the clearance of this lot is 10’0″

Economy Lot F
This lot offers long term parking for travellers and you can jump on the FREE 24/7 shuttle service to get to your terminal. The shuttle picks up travellers from the lower level where the baggage claim area is.
Note that the bus digital sign will read ” Rental cars / Parking lot F “. Every terminal has its own drop off / pick up areas.
To find parking lot F in O’hare airport drive to levels 4 & 5 on the MMF ( Multi Modal Facility ). Located on the southeast corner of Mannheim and Zemke road.

In relation to the terminals, the Economy Lot H is the northeast of all the domestic lots and directly north of the international Terminal 5.

There are 325 accessible parking spots spread around O’Hare airport. All these spots are located next to elevators, bus stops and sidewalks for maximum convenient and even the TSA system around economy lot E.
All the accessible spaces are wide enough for the ramp to drop and lift, below is a complete breakdown of the accessible spots on all lots:

Please note that all the ATS buses have the capability to kneel in the curb offering easy access to people in wheelchairs. Each bus can handle 2 wheelchair passengers at once.
The ATS ( Airport Transit System ) is the way passengers get around domestic and international terminals and the remote parking lots and it IS FULLY ACCESSIBLE.
There’s an audio system that sounds a message when the train is approaching each station and accessible seats in each cart. Elevators are available in al ATS platforms.

- If you plan on parking your car for more than 30 days, you should use one of the long term parking lots ( offsite ) as most lots will tow your car after 30 days if you don’t come back.

Chicago Midway Airport Valet Parking options
There is no Valet Parking at Midway airport, however, you can use the Valet services of the nearby parking lot MidwayEZParking which offers a VIP Valet Parking service.
The service is self park, 24 hours a day and offers shuttles to the airport that will take you there in 5-7 minutes.
Cell Phone lots
The best option for when you need to pick someone up and don’t want to circle around the airport while you wait. The cell phone lots give guests a way to park for free, and wait for their pick up to call them to come to the curb to pick them up.
The Cell Phone lot is located just west of the Recirculation Road AKA Cab Hill.
*Please note that it’s not allowed to leave your car at the curb unattended and it will be ticketed.
Chicago Midway Airport Cell Phone Lot
Same as with the ORD Cell Phone lot the Midway Airport has a designed parking lot where drivers can temporarily stop their car and wait for their pick up free of charge.
It’s not meant for short term parking but instead for waiting in your car while your friends or family are on their way from the airport. Instead of circling the airport, you can wait in the Cell Phone lot.
The lot is located at 61st Street and Cicero Avenue just south of the main airport entrance.
Please note though that unattended cars will be ticketed and towed on the car owner’s pocket. You must stay in your car while you wait.
Electric vehicle charging areas at Chicago Airports
the city of Chicago has a goal to lower their green house gas emissions to 25 percent below what it was in 1990. And they want to do it by 2020. So they built many EV charging stations around Chicago to help that cause.
Some of these stations can be found around Chicago Airports such as Midway and O’Hare.
EV Charging stations at O’Hare Airport
In Chicago O’Hare airport, the charging stations can be found at the first level ( hourly garage ) inside the O’Hare short term parking garage. What you call the Main Garage – Lot A.
Find the charging stations adjacent to the entrance from the bus and shuttle center. It’s for public use so feel free.
It will take around 3 – 8 hours to fully charge your Electric Vehicle in the 240 Volt, 7.2 Kilowatt stations.

There are six level 2 EV charging stations and only 1 level 3 ( Quick Charge ) station in Midway. They are all free to the public.
- You can find 2 charging station at the Cell Phone lot that includes a level 2 and 3 quick charging stations.
- In the long term parking garage ( Lot E ) you will find 2 level II charging stations.
- Another 3 level II stations can be found at the short term parking garage on ground level ( park by the hour )
